Textron (NYSE:TXT) announced that the Paraguayan Air Force became the first South American military operator of the Cessna SkyCourier twin-engine turboprop.
The aircraft delivery expands regional operational capabilities and complements the existing fleet of Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft operated by the defense force.
"The Cessna SkyCourier delivers unmatched reliability and mission flexibility, enabling the Paraguayan Air Force to reach remote regions with confidence," said Textron Aviation Vice President of Defense and Special Mission Sales Bob Gibbs.
The military acquisition was funded by Itaipu Binacional, an entity operated by two national governments, and features a generous payload capacity designed to be flown by a single pilot.
Following the announcement, Textron's share price was down at $75.53.
The aviation company expects the high-wing aircraft to enhance the capacity for medical evacuations, patient transport, and rapid humanitarian aid.
The multi-mission deployment reflects the broader corporate strategy to supply cost-effective, high-utilization hardware for global military and commercial operators.
