Teledyne Technologies (NYSE:TDY) announced that its FLIR Defense unit has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Army valued at up to $32 million to supply advanced sensor systems for the Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle (ICV).
The deal, facilitated by the U.S. Army Contracting Command, is part of a Foreign Military Sales agreement designed to modernize Bulgaria’s military capabilities.
Under the terms of the three-year agreement, Teledyne FLIR Defense will deliver and integrate electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) systems, including the TacFLIR® 280 HDEP imaging system and Ranger® R20SS long-range radar.
These components will be managed by the company's Cameleon™ control software, providing Bulgarian Land Forces with enhanced Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Targeting (ISR-T) capabilities in all weather conditions.
The contract supports Bulgaria’s broader initiative to replace its aging Soviet-era fleet with nearly 200 U.S.-made Stryker armored vehicles, a move intended to bolster interoperability with NATO allies.
Future phases of the program are expected to incorporate Teledyne’s unmanned aircraft and launch systems, as well as nuclear, biological, and chemical detection sensors.
Manufacturing for the Recon Kits will take place at facilities in the United States and Canada, with final integration occurring in Bulgaria following vehicle delivery.
