Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY) announced that its Teledyne FLIR Defense unit has received a $28.8 million contract from U.S. Customs and Border Protection to support the Enhanced Mobile Surveillance Capability–Lite program.
The contract will run for 24 months and involves the delivery of an upgraded Lightweight Vehicle Surveillance System designed to improve border monitoring operations along the U.S. Southwest border.
“Teledyne FLIR Defense has supported CBP operations for more than a decade,” said Teledyne Technologies Defense and Aerospace Group President Dr. JihFen Lei, highlighting the agency’s continued reliance on its surveillance systems.
The system integrates radar and electro-optical/infrared sensors mounted on a deployable mast installed on a Ford F-250 4x4 vehicle, allowing a single operator to manage deployment and operation from inside the cab.
Teledyne said the upgraded systems will provide improved mobility, automation, and real-time situational awareness to support Border Patrol agents in detecting and tracking movement across difficult terrain.
Initial deliveries are expected in Q3 2026, with production at Teledyne FLIR Defense’s Maryland facility and ongoing support from its Tucson service center.
