
Sunshine Silver expands Idaho exploration program
- Sunshine Silver Mining & Refining (NYSE:SSMR) expanded Idaho Silver Valley mineral rights by about 14,100 acres.
- The company launched a 45,000-meter district-scale surface exploration drilling program.
- Initial drilling will target East Sunshine, Rock Creek and Pine Creek areas starting in Q4 2026.
Sunshine Silver Mining & Refining (NYSE:SSMR) expanded its consolidated mineral rights in Idaho’s Silver Valley by approximately 14,100 acres, increasing its land position to about 38,000 acres.
The company also launched a multi-year, 45,000-meter district-scale surface exploration drilling program focused on identifying additional mineral targets across the expanded property area.
The initial exploration program will focus on three drill-ready targets: East Sunshine near the Sunshine Mine, along with the Rock Creek and Pine Creek areas, with surface drilling expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Sunshine Silver is developing silver mining assets in Idaho’s Silver Valley, including the historic Sunshine Mine area, while conducting exploration activities to evaluate additional mineral resources.
The company said its separate 50,000-meter underground in-fill drilling program at the Sunshine Mine remains on track for completion in October 2026, with additional downshaft drilling results expected in the fourth quarter.
