SUNation Energy explores potential sale after completing operational pivot
SUNation Energy (NASDAQ:SUNE), a provider of solar energy and storage solutions, announced on April 9, 2026, that its Board of Directors has authorized a formal review of strategic alternatives.
The process aims to maximize shareholder value and could lead to a sale of the company, a business combination, or the divestiture of specific assets.
The Long Island-based company initiated the review following what it described as a successful internal transformation.
Management noted that the firm has recently streamlined its core operations, lowered its overall expense structure, and fortified its balance sheet.
This restructuring was intended to position the company for sustainable growth, but the board has now determined that a broader evaluation of external opportunities is necessary to realize the company's full valuation.
SUNation has assembled a team of advisors to manage the exploratory process.
Maxim Group has been retained as the primary financial and M&A advisor, while Rimon PC will provide legal counsel.
The company has also engaged Alliance Advisors to handle investor relations and proxy solicitation throughout the review period.
