Sohu (NASDAQ:SOHU) today revealed Q2 2026 total revenue of $136 million, up 7% year over year, while GAAP net income attributable to shareholders reached $0.2 million.
Revenue declined 4% from the previous quarter, with online games contributing $116 million and marketing services generating $15 million.
Sohu reported a GAAP operating loss of $18 million, while a $13 million reversal of uncertain tax positions resulted in a $7 million income tax benefit and helped the company reach a small quarterly profit.
Following the announcement, Sohu's share price was unchanged at $13.71 in the latest available quote.
Changyou’s online game business generated $117 million in revenue and GAAP operating profit of $55 million, while Sohu ended the quarter with about $1.2 billion in cash, equivalents, short-term investments and long-term time deposits.
Sohu’s board removed the expiration date from its $150 million ADS repurchase program, which had resulted in about 9.4 million ADSs being repurchased for approximately $124 million as of August 6, 2026.
For Q3 2026, Sohu expects marketing services revenue of $14–$15 million, online game revenue of $105–$115 million and a GAAP and non-GAAP net loss of $13–$23 million.
