Shopify rises 8% on Meta AI partnership

Shopify (NYSE:SHOP) shares rose after the company announced a partnership with Meta Platforms’ AI agent Muse to enable agentic checkout using Shop Pay across Shopify stores.
The stock gained nearly 8% in recent trading after rising about 7% the previous day following Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke’s announcement of the collaboration.
"We are excited to announce we are partnering deeply with Muse to enable agentic checkout with Shop Pay on all Shopify stores," said Shopify Chief Executive Officer Tobi Lütke.
The partnership allows shoppers using Meta’s Muse AI agent to complete purchases through Shop Pay, while Shopify said the integration will connect AI-powered shopping experiences with its commerce infrastructure.
Shopify provides commerce tools for businesses, including online storefronts, payments, and merchant services used by businesses selling directly to consumers.
The partnership comes as technology companies expand AI-powered shopping tools, while Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) has blocked Muse from completing purchases on its platform, according to company statements.
