The Senate Agriculture Committee said it will release its crypto market structure bill on 21 January and hold a markup hearing on 27 January.

The hearing had originally been scheduled for 15 January before being postponed earlier this week.

The markup session will allow senators to debate amendments and vote on whether to advance the bill to the full Senate.

The Senate Banking Committee is holding its own markup hearing on a separate version of the crypto bill this Thursday.

The revised timetable ensures transparency and allows for thorough review.

Senate Agriculture Committee chair John Boozman said.

Boozman also praised Senator Cory Booker for working with Republicans on negotiations over the legislation.

The Agriculture Committee has yet to release updated draft text beyond its initial discussion paper.

Outstanding issues include ethics provisions linked to President Donald Trump’s family crypto ties and quorum requirements at federal regulators.

Similar concerns remain unresolved in the Banking Committee’s draft, raising questions over bipartisan support.
