
Santacruz Silver Mining reports fatal Bolivia incident

Santacruz Silver Mining (NASDAQ:SCZM) reported that an employee died following an incident at its Reserva mine in Bolivia on June 24, 2026.
The company said the incident happened around 6:30 pm at the end of the third shift and noted it was not linked to normal mining operations or assigned duties.
“Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our people,” said Santacruz Silver Mining Executive Chairman and CEO Arturo Préstamo.
Santacruz Silver Mining said emergency response procedures were activated immediately, but the employee did not survive, and it added that preliminary findings suggest a deviation from established safety procedures.
Following the announcement, Santacruz Silver Mining said activities in the affected area were suspended.
Santacruz said it has established safety systems, training programs and operational protocols aimed at preventing workplace incidents across its mining operations.
The company also said it will continue to provide updates as the investigation progresses and will announce when operations resume in the affected section of the Reserva mine.
