Salesforce acquires AI agent company Fin for $3.6 billion

Salesforce (NYSE:CRM) announced it will acquire Fin, formerly known as Intercom, for approximately $3.6 billion to accelerate its position in the autonomous agent market.

The acquisition brings Fin’s AI Agent technology and its proprietary Apex model into the Salesforce ecosystem to complement the existing Agentforce platform.

"We’re thrilled to welcome Fin to Salesforce as we enable every company to become an agentic enterprise,” said Salesforce Chair and CEO Marc Benioff.

Fin currently serves more than 30,000 companies, providing automated support that resolves complex customer service issues end-to-end across multiple communication channels.

The integration is designed to offer small and medium-sized businesses faster deployment options for AI agents that require minimal customization.

Following the announcement, the Salesforce share price was down at $248.50.

The transaction is expected to enhance Salesforce’s ability to provide scalable, trusted AI solutions for service organizations of all sizes.
