
RTX secures $1.1 billion AIM-9X missile contract

RTX (NYSE:RTX) announced that its Raytheon business has been awarded a $1.1 billion contract by the U.S. Navy to produce AIM-9X Block II missiles, along with related hardware and software.
The contract covers requirements for U.S. forces and Foreign Military Sales customers.
Raytheon is increasing production capacity to 2,500 missiles per year to meet growing demand for the advanced air-to-air missile system.
Most of the contract work will be performed in Tucson, Arizona, where the company is expanding its engineering workforce to support the increased production rate.
The AIM-9X Block II is a highly capable short-range air-to-air missile known for its advanced seeker technology and all-aspect engagement capability.
