
Raytheon Technologies (NYSE:RTX) has been awarded a $168 million foreign military sales contract to supply Romania with equipment for the Patriot air and missile defense system.
The order includes radar, command-and-control systems, launchers, and miscellaneous support and test equipment, further bolstering Romania’s air defense capabilities.
This marks Romania’s second Patriot order within a year, underscoring the country's commitment to strengthening its defense infrastructure.
The contract reflects NATO’s growing emphasis on enhancing collective security in Europe, with the Patriot system already serving as the foundation for air defense in 19 countries.
Romania joins a group of European nations, including Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain, which also placed significant orders for the Patriot system in 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to bolster air defense capabilities across the continent.
Raytheon’s Patriot system is widely regarded as one of the most combat-proven air and missile defense systems in the world, known for its interoperability with NATO forces.
