PowerBank wins US federal contract for solar and EV charging project

PowerBank (NASDAQ:PBK) announced that its US subsidiary, Abundant Solar Power, has been awarded a contract by the United States Department of Defense and the Department of the Army to construct a photovoltaic array, electric vehicle chargers, and associated infrastructure at the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Farmingdale, New York.

The facility serves the Army Reserve, Naval Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, and the New York National Guard.

This represents PowerBank’s first project for the United States Federal Government and was secured through a competitive solicitation administered by the US Army Corps of Engineers.

PowerBank’s President and Chief Operating Officer Andrew van Doorn stated: “Being awarded this contract by the US Army Corps of Engineers is a meaningful validation of the standard to which our team builds.”

The company will commence engineering, procurement, and construction of the project, which will be retained by the Owner.

PowerBank has a proven track record with over 100 MW of completed projects and a development pipeline exceeding 1 GW.

The company recently secured multiple state-level contracts with the New York Department of Military and Naval Affairs for solar and battery energy storage systems.
