- Parabilis aims to identify a dose and treatment schedule for future registrational development.
Parabilis Medicines (NASDAQ:PBLS) announced the initiation of a new dose-ranging cohort for zolucatetide in adults with familial adenomatous polyposis, a hereditary condition associated with the development of precancerous polyps.
The cohort is evaluating zolucatetide as a standalone therapy in adults with confirmed APC gene mutations, previous colon removal, and measurable duodenal polyp burden.
Early observations from two patients with FAP and concurrent desmoid tumors showed reductions in duodenal polyp burden.
One patient improved from Spigelman Stage IV disease to a near-normal duodenum, while another improved from Spigelman Stage II to Stage I. The Spigelman classification system is used to assess the severity of duodenal polyposis in FAP patients.
Parabilis said zolucatetide has demonstrated favorable safety and tolerability characteristics to date.
The company intends to use the dose-ranging cohort to establish an optimal dose and dosing schedule to support potential registrational studies.
Additional data from patients with FAP and concurrent desmoid tumors are expected in the first quarter of 2027.
