Palladyne AI executes AFRL autonomy integration contract
- Palladyne AI (NASDAQ:PDYN) executed an AFRL contract to develop technology that connects multiple autonomous defense systems.
- The HANGTIME project will use Palladyne AI’s SwarmOS™ software to coordinate drones, satellites, and other platforms.
- The program aims to improve cross-domain intelligence sharing across space, air, maritime, and land operations.
Palladyne (NASDAQ:PDYN) executed a previously announced contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to develop technology that enables autonomous defense systems to operate as a coordinated network.
The project, called Hierarchical Adaptive Networked Game-Theoretic Integration of Multiple Echelons (HANGTIME), will use Palladyne AI’s SwarmOS™ software platform as the baseline technology.
SwarmOS™ is designed to connect different autonomous systems, allowing platforms to share information, adapt to changing conditions, and coordinate actions across space, air, maritime, and land environments.
Palladyne AI President and CEO Ben Wolff said the project is focused on improving human decision-making by connecting satellite, aerial, and ground systems through its AI platform.
The HANGTIME program expands Palladyne AI’s technology from ground-based systems to include satellite integration for broader intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities.
AFRL Program Manager Caleb Williams said the project represents a step toward multi-domain autonomy for coordinated operations in challenging environments.
