
Osisko Development (NYSE:ODV0 has temporarily suspended activities at its Cariboo Gold Project in central British Columbia after a contractor suffered a fatal injury at the site.
The company reported that the incident occurred on January 22, 2026, involving a worker at the surface level of the operation.
Osisko Development stated that relevant authorities have been notified and an investigation into the circumstances of the accident is currently underway.
Operations at the project will remain paused to facilitate the investigation.
The Montreal-based miner expressed its condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased and indicated that further details regarding the incident will be released as appropriate.
The Cariboo Gold Project, located in the historic Wells-Barkerville mining camp, is Osisko’s flagship asset as it moves toward intermediate producer status.
The suspension comes as the company continues to advance development efforts in the region.
