OpenWorld signs Blocksight deal supporting $1.13 billion proposals
- OpenWorld signed a definitive merger agreement to acquire Blocksight, whose AI agents are intended to support tokenized financing programs.
- The acquisition would support two proposed financing programs totalling up to US$1.13 billion, comprising US$1 billion with Meridian and US$130 million with BeyondAI.
- OpenWorld plans to integrate Blocksight's technology into OpenWorld Enterprise to automate asset verification, investor onboarding, reporting and investment servicing.
OpenWorld (NASDAQ:OPNW) signed a definitive agreement to acquire Blocksight, supporting two proposed tokenized financing programs worth up to US$1.13 billion combined.
The agreement follows OpenWorld's October 1 acquisition announcement and separate non-binding financing proposals with BeyondAI on October 7 and Meridian on October 15.
“We want to build a model in which the Blocksight acquisition provides the foundation for our tokenization work in infrastructure and energy,” said OpenWorld Chief Executive Officer Matt Shaw.
Blocksight's five-stage AI workflow would support the US$130 million BeyondAI proposal and US$1 billion Meridian program, subject to closing conditions and definitive financing agreements.
OpenWorld intends to integrate the technology after closing, while its shares rose 16.17% in overnight trading to US$3.09 following the October 16 close at US$2.66.
The Meridian proposal targets an initial deployment across 10,000 homes, with installations planned for Q4 2026 and the first commercial site targeted for Q1 2027.
OpenWorld develops blockchain-based financial infrastructure, while Blocksight co-founders Patrick Kim and Peter Hong are expected to join following completion of the acquisition.
