OpenGate Capital, a global private equity firm, has completed the sale of ScioTeq, a leader in ruggedized display systems for the aviation and defense industries, to the aerospace and defense fund of global alternative asset manager Tikehau Capital.

While the sale transfers majority ownership to Tikehau, OpenGate will retain a meaningful minority stake in ScioTeq and continue to support the company’s next phase of growth.

ScioTeq, which has a 40-year history of designing and manufacturing advanced visualization and computing solutions, specializes in high-performance display systems and mission-critical electronics.

These products support situational awareness in demanding environments such as aviation, defense, and air traffic control.

With global sales, engineering, and manufacturing locations, ScioTeq’s products are trusted by governments and industry leaders worldwide.

OpenGate acquired ScioTeq from TransDigm Group (NYSE:TDG) in 2021 through a corporate carve-out.

During OpenGate’s ownership, ScioTeq executed several strategic growth initiatives, including strengthening its leadership team, expanding its global sales operations, and advancing key technologies like MicroLED and Mini LED displays for military applications.
