Nurix Therapeutics (NASDAQ:NRIX) enrolled the first patient in its Phase 1b/2 clinical study combining bexobrutideg with venetoclax for the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

The NX-5948-203 study, conducted under a global collaboration with Roche, aims to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and clinical activity of the combination therapy.

Bexobrutideg functions as an investigational oral drug designed to degrade Bruton’s tyrosine kinase, while venetoclax operates as an established standard-of-care treatment for small lymphocytic lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

The initial cohort of the trial specifically targets patients whose disease has either returned or resisted prior treatments, with a potential future expansion into first-line treatment settings.

The company expects the resulting trial data to inform future developmental strategies that will support formal commercial registration across various treatment lines.

The clinical roadmap also includes planned evaluations for combinations with rituximab and obinutuzumab in both treated and untreated patients, alongside potential expansions into other B-cell malignancies.
