Novo Nordisk shares fall after 2030 goals

Novo Nordisk (NYSE:NVO) shares declined after the company presented its strategic ambitions for 2030 ahead of its Capital Markets Day, including long-term pipeline and obesity market targets.

The company said it aims to deliver pipeline sales of more than 150 billion Danish crowns ($23 billion) by 2035 and increase its number of obesity customers tenfold.

The decline followed investor focus on the timing of future growth plans, with shares falling 6% and reaching their lowest level since April, while the stock was down 19% year to date.

Novo Nordisk develops medicines in areas including diabetes, obesity and other chronic diseases, with its Wegovy obesity treatment among the company’s key products.

The company’s Capital Markets Day outlined future ambitions for pipeline development and obesity treatment expansion, while investors continued assessing near-term business performance.
