
NIO (NYSE:NIO) accelerated into 2026 with a 96.1% year-over-year surge in January deliveries, a performance that officially pushed the Chinese electric vehicle maker past the one-million cumulative delivery mark.
The results highlight the growing impact of the company's multi-brand approach, which now spans premium, family-oriented, and compact high-end segments.
The company delivered 27,182 vehicles in January, nearly doubling its volume from the same period last year.
The core NIO premium brand accounted for 20,894 units, while its family-focused sub-brand, ONVO, contributed 3,481 units.
The recently launched FIREFLY brand, specializing in high-end compact EVs, added 2,807 units to the monthly total.
As of Jan. 31, 2026, NIO’s cumulative deliveries reached 1,024,774 vehicles.
Beyond sales volume, NIO significantly upgraded its software ecosystem with the rollout of the latest NIO WorldModel (NWM).
The update, which is being deployed to over 460,000 vehicles equipped with the Banyan intelligence system, introduces full closed-loop reinforcement learning to the driving experience.
According to the company, the upgraded architecture provides comprehensive modeling for both urban and highway scenarios, leading to measurable improvements in smart parking and active safety features.
