Natuzzi (NYSE:NTZ) reported second-quarter 2026 net sales of €60 million, down 23.4% year over year, reflecting persistent weakness in furniture demand.
Gross margin fell to 29.6% from 34%, while the operating loss widened to €10 million from €2.7 million in the prior-year quarter.
Chairman Pasquale Natuzzi attributed the deterioration to lower production volumes, underutilized factories, inefficient production allocation and a fixed-cost structure exceeding current business requirements.
The company reported €18.9 million in cash at June 30, while first-half revenue declined to €119.5 million and the operating loss reached €12 million.
Natuzzi signed a preliminary agreement in September to sell a non-strategic Italian industrial asset as part of efforts to streamline operations and improve financial flexibility.
Its majority shareholder provided €3 million in October toward a future capital increase, with up to €5 million in additional support potentially available under restructuring arrangements.
The company appointed Aldo Uva as chief executive officer effective October 26, while seeking a review of the New York Stock Exchange's decision to delist its shares.
