Natera presents lung cancer MRD data

• Natera (NASDAQ:NTRA) presented new Signatera MRD data from a 1,129-patient lung cancer study at the IASLC 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer.
• The study found Signatera-positive patients had about five times the risk of recurrence or death during surveillance.
• The findings evaluated molecular residual disease monitoring in resected stage 1-3 non-small cell lung cancer patients.

Natera (NASDAQ:NTRA) presented new data from its Signatera molecular residual disease (MRD) test at the IASLC 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer, including results from a 1,129-patient analysis in early-stage non-small cell lung cancer.

The study evaluated Signatera MRD detection in patients with resected stage 1-3 NSCLC between 2016 and 2025 and found that early post-surgical Signatera status was associated with recurrence-free survival outcomes.

“One of the pressing challenges in early-stage lung cancer is knowing which patients are truly at risk of recurrence,” said Charu Aggarwal, M.D., MPH, FASCO, principal investigator of the study.

The analysis showed that Signatera-positive patients had approximately five times the risk of recurrence or death during surveillance, while Signatera-negative patients had a 25% higher absolute three-year recurrence-free survival rate.

Natera develops cell-free DNA and precision medicine technologies, including Signatera, which is designed to detect molecular residual disease and monitor cancer recurrence risk.

The company said the findings were consistent across primary surgical and perioperative patient groups, supporting further evaluation of MRD monitoring in resected stage 1-3 NSCLC.
