Natera Signatera study validates lymphoma testing

• Natera published new data validating Signatera’s ability to assess molecular residual disease in lymphoma patients.

Natera (NASDAQ:NTRA) announced the publication of new data in Blood Neoplasia showing that its Signatera circulating tumor DNA test provided prognostic and predictive information for patients with newly diagnosed and relapsed or refractory lymphoma.

The prospective real-world study evaluated 144 patients across 14 lymphoma subtypes and found that Signatera results could provide additional information alongside PET/CT imaging for assessing treatment response.

The study analyzed 1,105 plasma samples collected before treatment, during therapy, after treatment, and during surveillance, with end-of-treatment Signatera positivity associated with lower event-free survival and stronger predictive performance compared with PET/CT.

Natera reported that end-of-treatment Signatera positivity showed a positive predictive value of 100% compared with 62% for PET/CT.

Natera develops cell-free DNA testing and precision medicine technologies, including Signatera for molecular residual disease monitoring in cancer patients.

The company said the findings support the use of ctDNA-based MRD assessment as a complementary method to traditional imaging, following updated National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines that include ctDNA assessment as a confirmatory approach for positive PET/CT results.
