Nasdaq futures rise as oil prices ease
- Nasdaq 100 futures led Wall Street higher as falling oil prices eased inflation concerns.
- Nasdaq 100 E-minis rose 0.56%, while S&P 500 and Dow futures also gained.
- Investors continued assessing interest rates, AI demand and corporate outlooks after a busy market week.
Nasdaq 100 futures led U.S. stock futures higher on Friday as declining oil prices reduced some inflation concerns and put the technology-focused index on track for weekly gains.
At 4:50 a.m. ET, Nasdaq 100 E-minis were up 166.25 points, or 0.56%, while S&P 500 E-minis gained 21.5 points, or 0.28%, and Dow E-minis increased 83 points, or 0.16%.
“Recent strength of S&P 500 earnings growth has raised investor concerns that the market is in an earnings bubble,” said Ben Snider, Goldman Sachs’ chief U.S. equity strategist.
Investors continued evaluating the impact of the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision, comments from Chair Kevin Warsh and recent corporate executive commentary ahead of the upcoming earnings season.
Market participants also monitored artificial intelligence demand after industry executives discussed a possible slowdown in technology development, while oil prices declined for a third straight session.
Technology stocks showed mixed premarket moves, with Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) gaining about 2% and 1%, respectively, while Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) declined 0.2%, making it the only decliner among the Magnificent Seven stocks.
