Moderna (NASDAQ:MRNA) reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $145 million, representing a slight increase from the $142 million recorded in the same period last year.

The biotechnology company posted a GAAP net loss of $782 million, which translates to a GAAP loss per share of $1.97.

Operating expenses saw notable improvements, with the cost of sales falling 22% year-over-year while research and development declined by 7%.

The firm highlighted significant commercial momentum, securing a COVID-19 vaccine collaboration in Brazil and an EU joint procurement contract for up to 24 million mRESVIA doses.

The organization also noted multiple regulatory approvals for its mRESVIA, mNEXSPIKE, and mCOMBRIAX vaccines ahead of an August PDUFA date for its flu candidates.

The balance sheet reflected $6.9 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and investments as of June 30, 2026, before accounting for a $950 million litigation payment in July.

Management stated that the company expects up to 10% revenue growth for the full year and lowered its expected cost of sales to $1.7 billion.
