McKesson (NYSE:MCK) agreed to acquire Precision Medicine Group for approximately $2.25 billion, adding clinical research and biopharma commercialization services to its oncology and multispecialty operations.

Precision Medicine Group provides services for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, including biomarker intelligence, laboratory services, global clinical research, market access consulting, and commercialization support.

Following completion of the transaction, Precision Medicine Group will report within McKesson’s Oncology & Multispecialty segment, subject to customary closing conditions including regulatory clearances.

McKesson stated that Precision Medicine Group’s capabilities are expected to expand its clinical research and commercialization services, while Precision Medicine Group said the combination will provide broader support for biopharma customers.

McKesson operates healthcare distribution, technology, and services businesses, while the Precision Medicine Group acquisition expands its presence in oncology services and pharmaceutical development support.
