
McDonald’s delivers a blockbuster $7.1 billion quarter

McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) reported second-quarter revenue of $7.1 billion, up 4%, as global comparable sales increased 1.3%.
Global comparable sales growth slowed from 3.8% one year earlier, while net income increased 5% to $2.36 billion.
Operating income rose 3% to $3.3 billion, while adjusted EPS reached $3.38 after excluding $0.06 per share in restructuring charges.
Following the announcement, McDonald’s share price was up about 0.7% at $267.19 in premarket trading.
Trailing 12-month loyalty sales increased more than 20% to $40 billion, while active loyalty users rose 13% to nearly 220 million.
Meanwhile, McDonald’s appointed Skye Anderson as President of McDonald’s USA, succeeding Joe Erlinger and overseeing nearly 14,000 domestic restaurants.
