The Marzetti Company (NASDAQ:MZTI) reported fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 net sales of $465 million, down 2.2% year over year, while adjusted diluted EPS increased 9% to $1.46.

Excluding $12.2 million in prior-year non-core sales from a temporary supply agreement with Winland Foods that ended in fiscal 2026, consolidated net sales increased 0.4% during the quarter.

The company reported consolidated gross profit of $114 million, up $7.9 million from the prior-year quarter, while gross margin improved 220 basis points to 24.5% due to cost savings initiatives.

Retail segment net sales increased 0.9% to $243.6 million, including $15.4 million in incremental sales from Bachan’s, Inc., the Japanese barbecue sauce brand acquired on May 1, 2026, while Foodservice segment sales declined 5.3% to $221.4 million.

Marzetti reported operating income of $57.7 million, up $18.8 million, including an $18.5 million gain from the sale of its former Milpitas, California sauce and dressing facility, while acquisition-related costs increased SG&A expenses.

The company reported fourth-quarter diluted EPS of $1.76 compared with $1.18 in the prior-year period, while adjusted diluted EPS increased to $1.46 from $1.34.
