Marex Group expands Asia Pacific clearing footprint via Bright Point acquisition
- Marex Group signed a definitive agreement to acquire Singapore-based Bright Point International (BPI).
- The transaction will add approximately $800 million in client balances and more than 70 regional employees.
- The strategic expansion significantly improves institutional access to commodity and financial markets in China.
Marex Group (NASDAQ:MRX), a diversified global financial services platform, announced today that it has agreed to acquire Bright Point International (BPI), an Asia-focused multi-asset clearing firm.
The acquisition is designed to accelerate Marex's long-term growth strategy throughout the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, introducing enhanced scale and localized structural expertise.
BPI maintains deep APAC and China-linked institutional client relationships, offering specialized access to global commodities, foreign exchange (FX), index futures, options, and emerging digital asset derivatives.
The transaction scales Marex's localized infrastructure by bringing in more than 70 specialized employees distributed across key financial nodes, including Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Norway, and the United Kingdom.
Through this unified infrastructure, existing Marex customers will receive direct, streamlined access to highly regulated Chinese financial and agricultural commodity exchanges.
Concurrently, Kenny Mah, Group CEO of BPI, noted that joining the Marex ecosystem gives BPI's current customer base a broader, truly global suite of liquidity and risk management options.
The closing of the acquisition remains subject to standard regulatory approvals across multiple international jurisdictions and is expected to reach formal completion by late 2026 or early 2027.
