MakeMyTrip Limited (NASDAQ:MMYT) reported fiscal second-quarter 2027 revenue of $235.2 million, an increase of 2.5% year over year, although the figure fell short of analysts' expectations of approximately $267.4 million to $269.1 million.

The online travel company returned to profitability with net income of $1.8 million, compared with a $5.7 million loss a year earlier, while adjusted earnings per share of $0.47 matched market expectations.

Gross bookings increased 11.3% in reported U.S. dollar terms to $2.72 billion, while adjusted operating profit rose to $46.2 million from $44.2 million and revenue growth reached 11.2% on a constant-currency basis.

MakeMyTrip shares rose approximately 4.8% following the earnings announcement as investors weighed improved profitability and domestic travel demand against the revenue shortfall.

Meanwhile, hotels and packages adjusted margin increased 10.4% to $116.8 million, supported by an 18.5% increase in hotel room nights, while bus ticketing adjusted margin climbed 19.5% to $45.1 million and air ticketing adjusted margin rose 5.6% to $108.6 million.

The company said weaker international long-haul travel, elevated fuel costs and an approximately 10% year-over-year depreciation of the Indian rupee pressured reported revenue, although domestic demand and growth across its travel booking platforms helped support operating performance.
