Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Ultra Maritime, a specialist in undersea and anti-submarine warfare systems, in a transaction valued at $3.45 billion.
The acquisition adds sonar, sonobuoy, radar, torpedo defense, and autonomous maritime sensing technologies to Lockheed’s defense portfolio.
Following completion, Ultra Maritime will be integrated into Lockheed Martin’s Rotary and Mission Systems business segment.
The deal expands Lockheed’s capabilities in naval warfare, particularly in submarine detection and maritime surveillance systems.
Ultra Maritime develops technologies used in anti-submarine warfare and ocean surveillance systems for defense applications.
Lockheed said the acquisition strengthens its position in advanced maritime defense systems amid rising global naval modernization programs.
