Kroger (NYSE:KR) reported second-quarter 2026 sales of $34.6 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $1.09 for the quarter ended August 15, 2026.
Identical sales excluding fuel increased 0.2%, while operating profit rose to $971 million from $863 million in the prior-year period.
Adjusted FIFO operating profit was $1.076 billion compared with $1.091 billion a year earlier, while gross margin was 22.4% of sales compared with 22.5% in the prior-year period.
Kroger reported adjusted eCommerce sales growth of 20% and a 24% increase in profit from Kroger Precision Marketing during the quarter.
The company lowered its full-year 2026 identical sales guidance excluding fuel to 0.2%–0.8% from the previous range of 1%–2%, while reaffirming guidance for operating profit, earnings per share, free cash flow, capital spending, and tax rate.
