JPMorgan Asset Management and QIA launch $20 billion investment partnership

JPMorgan's (NYSE:JPM) asset management division and Qatar Investment Authority have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a strategic investment partnership valued at $20 billion.

The partnership will combine QIA’s institutional investment capabilities with JPMorgan Asset Management’s global investment platform across public and private markets.

The initial agreement includes a $15 billion public equities mandate, under which JPMAM will manage customized global equity portfolios for QIA.

The partnership also includes a $5 billion private markets initiative focused on providing senior financing to established U.S. middle-market companies.

Target sectors for the private investment program include industrials, services, healthcare and technology.

The companies described the collaboration as a long-term partnership designed to expand investment opportunities and leverage expertise across global markets.

The private markets initiative will focus on established businesses seeking financing solutions, while the public equities mandate will provide QIA with customized global equity exposure managed by JPMAM.
