The J.M. Smucker Company (NYSE:SJM) reported a 5% increase in fiscal 2027 first-quarter net sales to $2.22 billion.
Operating income increased significantly to $511.6 million compared to $45.6 million during the same period last year.
The company stated its gross profit rose 106% year over year to reach $979.6 million.
Cash provided by operating activities reached $425.7 million, which the company stated drove free cash flow to $337.3 million.
Following the announcement, J.M. Smucker's share price was up at $130.91.
The company updated its fiscal 2027 outlook, stating it expects a narrower net sales decline of 1% to 2% instead of the previously anticipated 3% to 4% drop.
Management also raised its adjusted earnings per share guidance to a range of $10.50 to $11.00 and forecast approximately $1.1 billion in free cash flow.
