JetBlue (NASDAQ:JBLU) continues its aggressive transatlantic expansion with the launch of new summer seasonal service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN).
The move establishes Barcelona as JetBlue’s seventh European destination and its second in Spain, following last year’s successful debut in Madrid.
The new route is a cornerstone of the airline’s "JetForward" strategy, which prioritizes the development of the East Coast’s leading leisure network.
By connecting Boston—a major hub for life sciences, academia, and tech—with the innovation and cultural center of Catalonia, JetBlue is targeting a high-demand corridor.
Data from the Barcelona Air Route Development Committee (BARDC) indicates that over 59,000 indirect passengers traveled between the two cities in 2025 alone.
The service features JetBlue’s premium Mint® experience, aimed at disrupting the traditional business class market with accessible high-end travel.
The timing of the launch aligns with a surge in European summer travel demand, as Barcelona prepares for a heavy schedule of international sporting events and cultural festivals.
