InterDigital said it will continue seeking compensation for Disney’s use of its patented video technologies.

InterDigital (NASDAQ:IDCC) secured another injunction against Disney (NYSE:DIS) after a European court found infringement of a valid HEVC video-encoding patent.

The Düsseldorf ruling is InterDigital’s second HEVC-related injunction from the Unified Patent Court against Disney, following a Mannheim decision in June.

“Encoding for HEVC is a key component of the high-quality, premium viewing experience,” said InterDigital Chief Legal Officer Josh Schmidt.

The injunction covers 11 EU countries, including France, Germany and Italy, but Disney retains the right to appeal.

InterDigital said German and Brazilian courts have also issued Disney injunctions involving HDR, device casting, video overlays and HEVC or AVC compression.

InterDigital licenses wireless, video and AI technologies globally and reported annualized recurring revenue of $567.2 million for Q1 2026.
