Instacart (NASDAQ:CART), the leading grocery technology company in North America, announced on April 14, 2026, the acquisition of Instaleap, a prominent grocery delivery and fulfillment orchestration platform.
The move is designed to rapidly scale Instacart’s enterprise offerings to retailers outside of its core markets in the United States and Canada.
Instaleap brings a substantial international footprint to Instacart, including established partnerships with nearly 100 grocery retailers and operational experience in nearly 30 countries.
To date, Instaleap’s technology has powered more than 100 million transactions, specializing in real-time marketplace integrations and highly efficient local fulfillment solutions.
The acquisition marks a pivot in Instacart's strategy, shifting from a focus on North American consumer dominance toward becoming the underlying operating system for grocery retailers worldwide.
By integrating Instaleap’s capabilities, Instacart intends to offer a comprehensive "Connected Stores" suite to international partners, combining its existing products—such as Storefront Pro, Carrot Ads (retail media), Caper Carts (AI-powered smart carts), and FoodStorm (order management for prepared foods)—with Instaleap’s global-ready logistics engine.
For international retailers, the merger offers a turnkey solution to modernize their digital operations.
Instaleap’s technology is known for its "last-mile" efficiency, helping grocers manage complex picking and delivery workflows in diverse urban environments.
When paired with Instacart’s advertising and hardware solutions, the platform provides a localized yet world-class tech stack for grocers in Latin America, Europe, and beyond.
