China’s Insta360 is expanding into the US drone market as rival DJI faces restrictions on selling new models.
The company showcased its latest products at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, including an AI-powered 4K webcam and the A1 drone.
The A1 drone, developed by Insta360-backed Antigravity, features a 360-degree camera and is priced at about $1,500 in the US.
Insta360 said the drone has been warmly received by customers in both China and the United States.
The US market has huge potential, because there are so many outdoor opportunities and outdoor sports.
Max Richter said.
The push comes as US authorities added DJI and other foreign drone makers to a security-related covered list in December.
Richter said compliance risks are unavoidable but stressed the company’s commitment to investing in the US market.
There is always a risk, but we want to be here.
Richter said.
Antigravity said it stores user data on Amazon Web Services and has built safeguards to prevent misuse of its drones.
The company said it has not yet faced restrictions on US investment despite tightening scrutiny of Chinese technology firms.
