Hurco returns to profit, delivers $2.3 million Q3 net income

Hurco (NASDAQ:HURC) reported third-quarter 2026 net income of $2.3 million, or $0.35 per diluted share, compared with a net loss of $3.7 million, or $(0.58) per share, in the prior-year period.

The company’s sales and service fees increased 3% year over year to $47.3 million, while first nine-month sales rose 4% to $137.8 million as orders increased faster than shipments.

Hurco reported that gross margin expanded to 28% from 20%, driven by higher sales volumes, product mix changes toward higher-performance and 5-axis machines, previous cost controls, and tariff refunds.

The company reported third-quarter orders increased 25% and year-to-date orders increased 24%, with growth in the Americas and Asia Pacific offsetting lower sales activity in Europe.

Hurco ended the quarter with $52.1 million in cash, $166.7 million in working capital, and no debt, while reporting a first nine-month net loss of $3.5 million compared with a $12.1 million loss in the prior year.

Hurco designs and manufactures computer numerical control machine tools and related technologies, and plans to introduce its next-generation proprietary control technology at IMTS in Chicago.
