HII (NYSE:HII) announced today that its Mission Technologies division has received a $418 million, five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to support U.S. Navy fleet operational readiness.
The agreement covers the engineering, maintenance, and technical repair of shipboard elevators, cargo handling equipment, and associated systems installed on the Navy's aircraft carriers and amphibious vessels.
"Ensuring that essential operational systems — including shipboard elevators — run reliably is central to meeting the readiness needs of our U.S. sailors and Marines," said Michael Lempke, president of Mission Technologies’ Global Security group.
Under the terms of the contract, the team will leverage over four decades of experience in elevator support to provide fleet sustainment, sailor training for self-sufficiency at sea, and rapid-response "fly-away" teams for global maintenance requirements.
The work will be performed across the continental United States, outside the continental United States, and at forward-deployed locations worldwide through June 2031.
HII currently maintains and modernizes the majority of the U.S. Navy's fleet and continues to be a key partner in sustaining critical logistics infrastructure for the service's most strategically important warships.
