Hawthorn Bancshares completes FSC merger with $2.2 billion assets

Hawthorn Bancshares (NASDAQ:HWBK) completed its merger with FSC Bancshares and the merger of FSC subsidiary Farmers State Bank of Cameron, Missouri, into Hawthorn Bank effective September 3, 2026.

The transaction creates a combined company with approximately $2.2 billion in total assets and expands Hawthorn Bank’s operations across Missouri and Kansas.

Hawthorn Bancshares stated that Farmers State Bank customers will continue using existing branches, websites, and mobile applications until conversion.

Hawthorn Bank will begin integrating Farmers State Bank operations, with customer conversion expected during the first quarter of 2027, while the combined bank now operates 27 locations across northern, central, western, and mid-Missouri, plus one location in Kansas.

The company stated that the combination will provide expanded financial solutions and resources while maintaining a relationship-based community banking model.

Hawthorn Bancshares operates through Hawthorn Bank, providing banking services to individuals, businesses, and communities across Missouri and Kansas.
