The business recorded a net loss of $40 million, or $1.54 per share, alongside $2 million in adjusted EBITDA.
Operations during the quarter resulted in $69 million of net cash used in operating activities.
The company maintains $253 million in total liquidity.
Following the announcement, GrafTech International's share price was up at $7.35.
The manufacturer noted that its negative $75 million adjusted free cash flow reflects a planned quarterly inventory build.
The business also attributed its recent cash position to the scheduled timing of its semi-annual interest payments.
