GEN Restaurant Group secures 100-warehouse Costco commitment following Northwest success

GEN Restaurant Group (NASDAQ:GENK), the operator of the GEN Korean BBQ casual dining chain, has finalized product distribution commitments with more than 100 Costco Wholesale Corp. locations across the United States.

The commercial milestone follows the completion of the company's first Northwest regional retail roadshow, which significantly accelerated the brand's footprint in the consumer packaged goods sector.

The multi-city Northwest promotional tour yielded purchase commitments from approximately 60 to 70 Costco warehouses.

When integrated with the brand's existing placement in 40 warehouses across Southern California and Hawaii, GEN's products will soon populate more than 16 percent of Costco's total domestic warehouse network.

Management reported that consumer buying volume during the event neared historic highs for a Costco promotional roadshow, surpassing both internal targets and Costco's regional performance projections.

Building on this sales momentum, GEN plans to expand its regional roadshow program into additional geographical markets across the country.

The restaurant group's long-term retail strategy targets eventual distribution in 30 percent to 40 percent of all Costco warehouses nationwide.

Northwest locations are scheduled to begin receiving and stocking GEN's retail product line in their designated freezer sections starting in August.
