Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (NYSE:PAC) reported a 7.6% decrease in total terminal passenger traffic across its network for April 2026 compared to the same month in the previous year.

The company served a total of 5,113.4 thousand passengers during the month, down from 5,531.0 thousand in April 2025.

The decline was driven primarily by a 10.8% drop in international traffic, while domestic passenger volume proved more resilient, falling 5%.

The most pronounced decline occurred at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica, where passenger traffic plummeted 22%.

The sharp drop was attributed to the impact of Hurricane Melissa, which caused widespread flight cancellations and temporary facility closures.

Other tourist-heavy destinations also saw double-digit retreats, with Puerto Vallarta declining 17% and Los Cabos falling 8.1%.

In contrast, Guadalajara—one of GAP’s primary domestic and business hubs—remained a bright spot, posting a modest 0.9% increase in traffic.

Meanwhile, Tijuana saw a 10.5% decrease, continuing to reflect volatility in cross-border travel demand.

Despite the drop in total passenger numbers, GAP’s operational efficiency metrics showed signs of tightening.

The total number of seats available across its airports fell by 8.3% for the month as airlines adjusted schedules in response to lower demand and weather conditions.

This reduction in capacity led to a slight improvement in the consolidated load factor, which rose to 81.5% from 80.8% in April 2025.
