Freedom Boat Club, the world’s largest boat club and a business unit of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE:BC), announced today it has acquired the Freedom Boat Club of Greater Boston & Cape Cod.

The transaction involves the largest franchise operation in the Freedom network, adding 21 locations across Greater Boston, Cape Cod, and surrounding coastal areas to the company’s corporate-owned portfolio.

The acquisition is a strategic move to solidify Freedom's "JetForward" initiatives in the Northeast, a region characterized by high boater participation and premium membership demand.

Beyond the club locations, the deal includes a 7,200-square-foot Maintenance Operations Center and a dedicated boat dealership.

These assets are intended to serve as a regional hub for fleet maintenance, service, and resale, streamlining operations across the company’s growing New England footprint.

The Greater Boston and Cape Cod operation was previously built into a market leader by franchisees Matt Carrick and Matt O’Connor.

Under their leadership, the franchise became one of the most successful in the network, recently earning "Platinum Club" sales recognition.

While the duo is divesting their Boston-area interests, they will remain active within the Freedom network as owners of franchise locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

By shifting these 21 locations to corporate ownership, Brunswick Corporation aims to enhance the consistency of the member experience while diversifying its revenue through the associated dealership and resale capabilities.

The move comes as Freedom Boat Club continues to report record membership engagement, having surpassed 640,000 member trips globally in the previous year.
