Firefly Aerospace secures $144 million NASA lunar mission contract

Firefly Aerospace (NASDAQ:FLY) announced it received a $144 million NASA CLPS contract to deliver an accelerated Blue Ghost lunar lander mission targeted for 2028.

The company plans to design, build, test, and deliver the mission in about two years, roughly half Mission 1’s timeline.

This will be Firefly’s sixth contracted lunar mission, using its flight-proven Blue Ghost design to provide repeatable lunar access.

The lander will deliver three NASA science instruments to the Moon’s near side and is supported by expanded spacecraft production capacity near Austin, Texas.

Firefly Aerospace continues to expand its role in lunar exploration through multiple NASA contracts and commercial missions.

The company is focused on developing reliable, cost-effective access to the Moon and beyond through its Blue Ghost lander technology.
