Evotec partners on tumor therapy research

Evotec (NASDAQ:EVO) and Plectonic Biotech have entered a research collaboration to evaluate a T-cell-engaging immunotherapy concept for solid tumors using their respective biotechnology platforms.
The partnership combines Plectonic Biotech’s LOGIBODY® DNA-protein therapeutics with Evotec’s BiTco platform, which uses a non-blocking CD2 antibody to provide additional costimulatory signals to T cells.
The companies will focus on generating preclinical proof-of-concept data to assess whether combining selective tumor recognition with CD2-mediated T-cell co-stimulation can improve T-cell-engager approaches.
The collaboration will examine potential effects on precision, potency, and safety windows in solid tumor treatments, while both companies will contribute previously developed preclinical platform data to the research program.
The partners stated that the collaboration is designed to evaluate a new approach for solid tumor immunotherapy.
