LENZ Therapeutics (NASDAQ:LENZ) and Everest Medicines announced an agreement on June 8, 2026, transferring the rights to develop, manufacture, and commercialize LNZ100—marketed in the United States as VIZZ—within Greater China.
Under the terms of the asset purchase agreement, Everest Medicines acquires these rights from CORXEL Pharmaceuticals, which had previously held the license for the region since April 2022.
Everest will assume all existing obligations under the original license agreement between LENZ and CORXEL.
The transaction encompasses the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and Taiwan.
VIZZ, a once-daily aceclidine-based ophthalmic solution, is designed to treat presbyopia by creating a "pinhole" pupil effect that improves near vision without significantly impacting distance vision.
The product received FDA approval in the United States in July 2025.
In China, the New Drug Application (NDA) for LNZ100 was submitted in September 2025, with regulatory approval currently anticipated in the first quarter of 2027.
LENZ Therapeutics remains positioned to benefit from the product's long-term commercial success in the region.
The company retains eligibility for up to $85 million in remaining development, regulatory, and sales-based milestones.
Furthermore, the agreement entitles LENZ to receive tiered royalties on net sales in Greater China, ranging from the mid-single digits to the low double digits.
