- Equinor said the contract expands its long-term European gas sales portfolio and strengthens commercial ties with Eneco.
Equinor (NYSE:EQNR) announced a five-year natural gas supply agreement with Dutch energy company Eneco, covering deliveries from the Norwegian continental shelf to the Netherlands.
The companies did not disclose financial terms, while the agreement represents the third long-term gas supply arrangement between Equinor and Eneco during 2026.
The agreement includes the transfer of verified environmental attributes through Attributes SA’s digital platform, allowing Eneco to track gas origin and upstream greenhouse gas emissions linked to the contracted supply.
Equinor said the contracted gas has a lifecycle greenhouse gas footprint 11.8% lower than average gas supplied through the Dutch grid, based on 2025 emissions data, due to differences in extraction and transportation emissions.
Equinor produces energy from oil, gas, renewables, and other energy-related activities, with Norwegian pipeline gas remaining part of Europe’s energy supply network.
